We are excited to announce the redesign of SlideRoom submission portals. The new design is a direct response to your requests and our analysis of usage trends over the last two years. Thank you for your feedback!

Login pages will display your welcome text as well as a helpful video overview of the whole process. A preview of your active programs will be displayed within an organized directory.

Whether you have one or many, programs will be easier to browse within the new directory structure. Programs will be displayed along with a preview of all requirements.

A new horizontal workflow keeps focus on the present task and provides a quick preview of the steps to come. This creates a more guided structure for each step. Additionally, your institution's branding is displayed throughout the process.

Portfolios can be created through direct media upload or by accessing a library of previous uploads. The layout has been improved to better display instructions and portfolio requirements.

The deadline date will be replaced with a countdown timer during the last few days. This will help submissions to be completed on time regardless of time-zone. You can also add a secret "grace period" if you want to allow late submissions to be accepted.

The dashboard is used to navigate pending submissions or to create a new one. Completed submissions are also available in a read only format.

Is the upgrade happening automatically or do we need to request it?
All accounts will be upgraded automatically. You do not need to request it. All submission portals will be offline for a few days in early September when the transition is being made. Upon return, you will have all of the new updates!
Do we need to pay more money to receive the upgrade?
No, there is no additional cost for this system upgrade. The fact that so many clients made requests for the same features allow us to make common improvements for everyone. Not every request can be accomodated, but growing a common system allows everyone to benefit without adding additional cost.
Will we need to update our program settings (or anything else) to accommodate this upgrade?
No. The update will happen automatically without needing any changes. If you wish to add more Welcome Text or Instructions, there is additional space for these items.
What is happening to the old version? What if we still want to use it?
We are glad you like the existing system, but it needs to be phased out. The new design will extend all the same features and make them easier to use. Please know, we are not changing our underlying technology, we are just placing a new skin over everything. If you feel strongly about continuing to use the old system past September, please contact us.
What happens to applicants if they are in the middle of a submission process?
The update will not cause any problems. Applicants who have already submitted will not see these updates. New applicants will only see the new system. And applicants who are in the middle of preparing their materials will be able to continue their submission. They will receive an update about the new colors/layout, and their data will be completely intact. The process will actually be easier to complete.
If we want to take advantage of adding extra instructions, where can we do that?
After the upgrades are launched in September, Admins can go into their control panel and add instructions in several places. The welcome text will show on the front of your portal, so feel free to add more text there. Also, you can give each program a general description under programs>settings.
Are any features disappearing with the new system?
No. All features will remain intact or be expanded.
When is this upgrade happening?
We will be taking SlideRoom submission portals offline in early September while we publish the new updates. When the system returns, you will have a fresh new submission portal. System wide notifications will appear to people who may be in the middle of using the system, so they will understand what is happening. All data will be seamlessly carried over. The exact date/time of this transition will be announced on our blog closer to time.
