Resource Guide

Introduction

A SlideRoom representative will help you initiate your account. You will also receive a URL to include in your website, so that you can direct applicants to your SlideRoom account.

- applicants login at: http://yourname.slideroom.com
- reviewers login at: http://review.slideroom.com

We have separated these two portals so that applicants will not be tempted to login as reviewers.

Dashboard Features

The Dashboard is a control panel for all of your settings. Only administrators can see the Dashboard, located the top right of your screen. Only individuals with Admin status can see the Dashboard. This section has several tabs:

Accounts: This is where you enter your account information and welcome text. This welcome text will be displayed to all of your applicants, and provide a context for all of your programs.

Users: This tab allows the Admin to create multiple reviewer accounts. Simple click "add user," and fill out the fields with the reviewer’s name and email address. The password fields will be automatically generated, unless you choose to type your own. (These passwords can be changed by the reviewers later under the "my account" link). Make sure to click the boxes "Reviewer" and/or "Features_Administrator." You will be able to determine which programs reviewers have access to with an easy click of a button. When you click "save," an email will be sent to this person, notifying them that an account has been created for them.

Programs: This is the where all of your program settings are managed.

  1. Click "add program" (a new window will open with several more tabs).
  2. Settings - Program name (ie. Graduate Painting, Fall 2008).
    • Guideline Text - this is where you describe the type of artwork you wish to receive. (It is not necessary to type in any technical guidelines like image size, these are displayed automatically).
    • Start/End Dates - Click on the calendar icon to establish the deadline for this program.
    • Max/Min Slides - The controls the number of portfolio items you wish to receive. Your applicants will not be able to submit until they meet this requirement.
    • Checkboxes - hover the cursor over each item for a description.
  3. Reviewers - make sure the proper people are checked as reviewers for this program.
  4. Statement/Resume - this is where you can provide directions if you wish to gather a text item from your applicants. Checking the "Accept Statement/Resume" will cause a field to be displayed to your applicants saying that you can accept text. If you have more than one question, let us make a customized form for you. Just email us your questions.
  5. Confirmation Text - this text will be displayed to applicants immediately after submitting their portfolio.
Reports

Reports allows you to download all of your applicants information into a spreadsheet. Click on the program you wish to view, and then click the "generate report" button. This will save a file to your desktop, which can be opened in Excel. These reports contain all applicant information, and even how they were rated/commented upon by reviewers.

Slide Viewer

The slide viewer allows reviewers to easily navigate through a large number of portfolios. Reviewers use the intuitive rating system to organize applicants by rating. To move from applicant to applicant, simply click on the cell in the left sidebar. The field above this side bar allows you to choose specific programs. The field below the sidebar allows the administrator to choose specific reviewer ratings, or an average of all the ratings. The blue folder at the bottom of every cell allows reviewers to communicate with each other via comments. All images can be viewed in gallery mode (with scalable thumbnail images) or in slide show mode that display artwork information at the bottom of the screen.
